PBS is beaming Philly’s cosmic jazz roots into orbit. A new American Masters doc on Sun Ra premieres February 20th, with appearances from the still-active Arkestra and their 101-year-old leader Marshall Allen.
A Philadelphia edition of the classic board game, Monopoly, drops this November, and locals can nominate landmarks, businesses, and nonprofits to be featured on the board through the end of February.
Starting next week, bus, trolley, and NHSL updates will no longer be posted on social media. Instead, they’ll live on SEPTA’s app, website, and third-party platforms like Google Maps and Apple Maps.
The city is offering same-day pay for clearing snow from ADA curb ramps. Mayor Parker says the program pays $25 an hour, includes lunch, and aims to make sidewalks safer citywide after recent storms.
